City on the Hill Youth Leadership Conference

CRI is already receiving applications for City on the Hill Youth Leadership Conference, which will take place next month, July 21-26th.

For 22 years, this outstanding program has helped train young leaders in the legislative and political processes.

During the week-long conference students aged 14-18 from all across California become mock legislators. They carry real legislation being debated that year in the actual legislature. While busy passing their bills through committee hearings, and debating legislation in floor sessions, they must also contend with the political aspect of governing as they run for party leadership.

No where else can young Christians obtain such hands-on training for the political and governing arenas. The apex of the conference is the final day, when students debate their bills on the actual floor of the California legislature.

In addition to the legislative training, students receive world view training, hearing edifying speakers from many different walks of life. Students are also encouraged in their walk with the Lord as they attend daily worship services and Bible studies.

Every year both students and staff leave City with a passion to return home and change the world for Christ. Perhaps the greatest testament to City’s impact is the students who return year after year to continue honing their skills. So empowering is City, many families send all of their children.

Even if your child isn’t interested in politics, they will enjoy City. While forging lifelong friendships with other young people who share their values, each student will gain a greater understanding of their government. This knowledge will equip them to be informed and engaged voters, holding their elected officials accountable.

A new web ministry conference is scheduled for September. The Christian Web Conference will be held at Biola University 11-12 September 2009. It becomes effectively the ideal replacement for the Internet Ministry Conference which ceased in 2008.
The Christian Web Conference is designed to equip individuals with the vision, knowledge, and relationships that are necessary in order to be thoughtful practitioners and consumers of developing web technologies.

The Women of Faith Conference

The Women of Faith Conference will be September 11-12, 2009, at the Honda Center in Anaheim. We have 25 tickets available at $79 each. This includes a 2-day event (Friday and Saturday) and a box lunch both days.

You can go to the Women of Faith website to read more about this event.

Sign ups will start next weekend and since spots are limited, the ONLY WAY TO SAVE A SPOT IS TO PAY at the time you sign up. The reason we are starting signups so soon, is that we have to send in our final payment by the beginning of July.
