AB 66-Pupil Work Permits (Anderson) Under California law, school students may not obtain a job without a school-issued work permit from a local public school superintendent. The process by which a private school student receives a permit can be difficult and confusing, as many times they are forced to go through their local public school for the permit.
AB 66 will authorize public and private school principals to grant the work permits, thus allowing the student to work with their own principal in determining a work schedule amenable to their school schedule.
